I began my journey as a professional driver in 1996 working for Gannett newspapers in northern Westchester County in New York. It was a new experience for a 19 year old, driving in an area that was at the time huge to me in addition to driving at all hours of the night & early morning which was a new experience for me. I didn’t know it then but that job gave a strong base for map reading and route planning at a time when Google Maps, smart phones and GPS weren’t a thing and these are skills that I still use today.
Realizing I had hit a ceiling at Gannett, I decided to go to CDL school in late 2000. I attended SAGE Technical Services in Johnson City, NY and received my Class A CDL on January 9, 2001. My first truck driving job was working for Swift Transportation as an OTR driver, then a local beer distributor for short periods of time until I settled at a school bus company called Royal Coach Lines in Peekskill, NY. The company soon relocated to Thornwood, NY and I remained there for 4 years. I learned a lot driving these buses and again expanded my driving universe learning to drive the whole of Westchester County, western Connecticut and NYC.
I eventually moved up to Lakeland Central School District where I spent 7 miserable years working in a seriously depressing environment before moving on to Coach Tours Ltd. It was at Coach Tours Ltd. that I finally learned what it was like to love your work. Here I got to travel all over, mostly in the North East US but occasionally as far west as Indiana and as far south as South Carolina. Other drivers go even further out than that.

I love working with senior centers going to casinos, numerous historical places & lunches at countless restaurants that I likely would never have otherwise known about. But it was sports trips where I found where I belong & at Joel Barlow High School, located in Redding, CT, is where I met Ryan Swift, the Ski Racing coach there. He has requested me as the driver for his teams for the past 10 years, and because of him several other teams at the school have specifically asked for me to drive them including; the 2023 State Baseball Champions, and the 2022 & 2023 back to back State Football Championship teams. None of which would have happened without Ryan, who is not just a great person and coach, but over these many years someone I consider a good friend. I drove more and more teams working directly with other high schools and colleges from New York & Connecticut. I then started working with more colleges from all over the country, though a company called Shorts Travel Management, that requested me as their primary driver whenever they used our company. As a result I got to work with so many great teams and coaches including some big Division I schools. I had really found my nitch in this business.
But it was Post University, an awesome Division II school in Waterbury, CT where I truly feel like I found my second home. The company won a contract with the college just before the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020, which of course caused a delay in when we started working there. But in the spring of 2021 I had the opportunity to drive my first trip there with the school's Softball team as a replacement driver. It was on this trip to Philadelphia where I earned my first request with a team. Over the next year I earned requests from 6 of the schools 12 teams that regularly use coach buses. This led to the school's request to wrap one of our buses with the it's colors & logo and my bus was chosen because of my relationship with coaches & staff in the Athletic Dept.
Over the past 2 years my relationship with the coaches, players, and other college staff (even several staff/faculty not connected to Athletics) has grown and I feel like a VIP when I am on campus. I am currently the requested driver for 8 teams: Men’s & Women’s Soccer, Football, Volleyball, Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Softball and as the assigned driver of the "Post" bus I am the default driver for any trip for the school. I look forward to many seasons to come working with Post University and all the amazing coaches and support staff there.
